Tonka

Tonka came to us with an aggressive squamous cell carcinoma in his only good eye (he had already lost one eye to a squamous cell carcinoma before we got him). After very aggressive treatment, the vet was very hopeful that it had been successful. Sadly, Tonka started to go off his food. We got the vet out who took bloods and put him on ulcer treatment but he dropped weight at an alarming rate and he just refused to eat. He was diagnosed with Lymphosarcoma, which is very common in horses who have had previous squamous cell carcinoma or sarcomas. Unfortunately there was nothing we could do and we made the very difficult decision to put him down.
