Mia was rescued from slaughter and adopted by one of our volunteers. Unfortunately, due to her owner's ill health, she was returned to SAHA. Mia was never broken in and suffered from arthritis so she was never going to be a riding horse and joined our Golden Oldies program. Unfortunately Mia developed squamous cell carcinomas on both eyelids. As she was already in her twenties and suffering quite badly from arthritis, it was decided that putting her through the very intensive chemotherapy treatment would be unfair, and she was laid to rest.
