This beautiful mare was rescued by SAHA from the doggers. She was on the kill list at such a young age because she sustained a head injury and it would have been cruel to keep her at the doggers without treating her. She was offered to SAHA to take on and we immediately had her picked up on a Sunday morning and brought to our Gold Coast Sanctuary and treated. A wonderful lady by the name of Elaine Neill paid $2,000 for Lainee to be saved, vet treated and rehabilitated. She has been at our Trainers and is now ready to find her forever home. She is a beautiful, playful mare and lovely to handle. She gets along so well with all other horses and does not have a nasty bone in her body. She is a green horse, so not suitable for beginners. She needs a home who can continue on with her education. She also needs a fairly light weight rider, as she is a fine mare. A word from her trainer:- "Lainee is sweet natured and is very willing. Although still green, she is working in a nice frame with good paces and transitions. She will best be suited to a performance/pony club home but must be with someone that has experience in continuing her education and that has the time and knowledge to bring on a young horse. Definitely not suited to a beginner or nervous rider. Lainee is great to handle, tie and lead. She can sometimes be a bit spooky but she doesn't buck rear or bolt. She would suit a small adult or teenager due to her little frame. Lainee will make someone a really fun horse that will go far.”
Unfortunately in 2020 Lainee returned into care where she was later diagnosed with shivers. With her rapidly deteriorating condition the decision was made to give her wings and send her over the rainbow bridge with dignity.
