Khaleesi

A little bit about me...

Khaleesi

This beautiful grey mare was rescued unhandled from the knackery - but she is actually handled, she is just terrified of people. Khaleesi came with a body full of bumps and a nasty scar on her neck which was put down to an old injury. She was covered in old muscle tearing which had healed but were evident in her hind end. She also had many grey horse melanoma's on her anus and around her neck, throat area and under her tummy. We worked with Khaleesi every day but she just didn't want to be touched. Her mind and body had both been through the ringer. Myself, Helen (Our Treasurer) Michelle (our Tarampa Sanctuary Manager) along with our amazing vet Brent toiled with different ideas, but nothing worked and in the end, ending her suffering was the best option. Khaleesi was sore, over people and there wasn't anything we could do to help her.
